Sarah Abdou, DPM, DABPM

Dr. Sarah Abdou, DPM received her medical degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from New York Institute of Technology. She completed her surgical residency training at Saint Michaels Medical Center in Newark, NJ. During her third year of residency, Dr. Abdou served as Chief Resident and was in charge of supervising all podiatry residents and assigning surgical and clinical responsibilities to the fellow residents. She also served as a liaison between the program director and the resident staff.

Dr. Abdou was trained in diabetic limb salvage, wound care, biomechanics, pediatrics, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. She believes in early diabetic foot screening and preventative medicine and treatment.

Dr. Abdou was born and raised in Brooklyn and is excited to give back to her community in New York. She is fluent in Arabic and English.

During her free time, Dr. Abdou enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, and friends. She also loves to travel and try food from different cultures.

Nishu Desai, DPM

Dr. Nishu Desai is a board-qualified podiatric physician with comprehensive training in medical and surgical management of foot and ankle pathology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rutgers University and her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Desai completed her surgical residency at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where she served as Chief Resident, overseeing resident education, surgical assignments, and clinical operations while serving as liaison to program leadership.

Her training includes advanced experience in diabetic limb salvage, wound care, biomechanics, pediatrics, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Desai emphasizes early diabetic foot screening, preventative care, and evidence-based treatment to reduce complications and optimize long-term outcomes. She has managed a broad spectrum of complex foot and ankle conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr. Desai is board-qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
