Nishu Desai, DPM
Dr. Nishu Desai completed her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she obtained her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. She continued her surgical training during her time in residency at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ where she served as chief resident. As chief resident and was in charge of supervising all podiatry residents and assigning surgical and clinical responsibilities to the fellow residents. She also served as a liaison between the program director and the resident staff.
Dr. Desai was trained in diabetic limb salvage, wound care, biomechanics, pediatrics, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. She believes in early diabetic foot screening and preventative medicine and treatment.During her residency training, Dr. Desai was exposed to a plethora of pathologies and ailments of the foot and ankle in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her residency training shaped her into a well-rounded practitioner concerning all pathologies of the foot and ankle. Dr. Desai is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Desai enjoys doing yoga, working out, and spending time with her husband and son.
